Although this winter in our part of Utah hasn't been nearly as bad as others, the "Winter Blah's" set in just the same. I think in part from the shear fact that there is nothing beautiful to look at outside. Instead of ugly white snow, icicles hanging from the rooftops, and the cold of winter....we have brown, in every direction, on the ground, on the mountains, in the air....its just ugly. Winter time is when I usually take on some much needed projects that there never seems to be time for in the summer. This year I took on the family room. Its been an ugly, modge podge, yuckiness for years and has driven me CRAZY. I've looked at it every day I thought to myself, "I really should do something down here"...but never wanted to take it on because of the work I new it would entail, plus all the furniture I would have to move. After the Christmas tree came down this year I decided I was going to paint and re-do that room NO MATTER WHAT....so, the middle of January, thats what I did. I woke up one morning and moved all the furniture to the center of the room, filled in nail holes on the ugly green and cream walls and set out to paint my day away....LONG DAY, but I got it done.
I chose and "Icy Mint" and "Ivory" for the walls. Three walls are the mint and one wall is the Ivory.....
I LOVE the finished room (sorry I forgot to take the "finished pics). It used to be
a room where I hated to be because it just wasn't put together like I wanted....but NOW,
I LOVE to just sit on the couch and stare...an anything and everything. Its a very calm,
relaxing, gorgeous room....if I do say so myself~
After the room was complete, I made up these fabulous canvas pictures for the wall....
They turned out to be one of my favorite accessories in the entire room.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE me some beauty in the ugly of winter!!
