Mini Make Over!

Little Mister was in need of a hair cut, so grandma got to cut it.
I sat him on the table, put the plastic drape around him and got to work.
He sat SOOO still (bribing him with a sucker for when we finished might have been a bit of an incentive).

He was NOT pleased with Halle when she started taking pictures...he kept saying (screaming)..."NOooooo"!!

Every time I brought the squirt bottle up to wet his hair, he pulled the cutest face...and that was
BEFORE I sprayed!

And his NEW,  finished look...sporting the "Fo-Hawk"

He liked it and thought he looked "Pretty Spiffy!"

 ....and the "comb down" look...ADORABLE!

NOW for the sucker........HE couldn't be happier!
Love this STICKY little guy!!

An "Egg-sealant" Time~

When our kids were all younger and living at home...dying Easter eggs was
something THEY reminded and BEGGED me to do, weeks before Easter. NOW that I have
two teenagers at home, I DO the reminding AND THE BEGGING.
They could all care less if we dye eggs or not, BUT I'm not ready to let the
family tradition die just yet.
So....Family Home Evening this week was spent sitting at the table and dying eggs!
I don't care what anyone said, I think they all had an "EGG-SEALANT" time!!

Deron hasn't dyed eggs with us FOR YEARS...and he kept saying,
"this is kind of fun......"
Cam's favorite egg, a cute little face with a headband and green hair~

 ....and one of Halle's fav's!

 Deron's Easter eggs...all in green and blue's~

Averee's favorite egg says, "Cam loves Averee"......wonder WHY thats her favorite ;) ?

Our traditional "Poop" egg......every year (for years) someone makes an egg
that sits in EVERY color of dye...this sad colored egg looks much worse in person than it does
in this picture. It resembles the color of a "cow pie"..........

And here's our fun colored eggs....I'm glad the kids participated...even if
they weren't TOO THRILLED about it!

Happy Easter Everyone!!

When we remodeled our kitchen some 15 years ago, I put a bulletin board on a wall right next to the fridge. I'm not a fan of LOTS of things stuck to the refrigerator, making it difficult to get into the fridge without everything falling off the door. The board was intended for things like report cards, wedding announcements, notes and reminders, a "brag board" of sorts...BUT over the years, I used it to pin up photo's...it was quickly over taken with pictures, leaving no room for anything else (which was perfect and wonderful and okay). This board affectionately got named the "family board" and everyone enjoyed looking at the college of faces that adorned the "family board"! WELL....a few weeks ago, I took all the pics off to laminate them, hoping to preserve them, keep them from getting torn and splattered with food. I had hoped to get the daunting task completed that day, unfortunately it didn't happen. As the kids, friends and even the husband (who doesn't usually notice the changes I make..unless I point them out), trickled into the kitchen over the next few days they "gasped" (each with their own tone of SHOCK) and asked "WHAT HAPPENED to all the pictures???" "WHY did you take them all down???" HONESTLY, after taking them all off, I had wondered if anyone would even notice they were gone (the board had been there so long, I didn't think anyone paid attention to it anymore) BUT........I WAS quickly put in my place and told, "The "family board" is our favorite, you can't get rid of it....."ITS part of our life",  SO I decided since its something everyone loves and frequently stops to check out, I better get the pictures laminated and put back up, which I did! NOW they are all protected and preserved....BUT now I need a bigger board for MORE pictures!!

CHEEEEEZZZZEEEE!

I had my camera out the other day while this gorgeous little guy was here...
I told him to say "Cheese" and I got the biggest, cutest, funniest
"CHEEEEEZZZZZZEEEEE" ever!
Love this little man!! He makes my smile A LOT!

They're HERE......

She is now the proud owner of GLASSES!!
After the initial "negative comments", mocking and
teasing that she got the first day back at school with her new look,
I think she has decided (regardless of what anyone thinks or says)...she likes her new glasses!
Personally...I think she looks adorable and I'm glad she is finally able to
see EVERYTHING in front of her!!

It's only a number~

Deron had ANOTHER birthday...HE's now 47.
It's crazy how when we were younger, we couldn't "wait" to be 24, 16, or 18 or even 21,
but as the years start creeping closer to 50, 60, even 70....it seems
a little less exciting to have another birthday...
BUT having said that, the alternative to NOT getting another year older isn't good either, so
we'll take another birthday over that ("THAT" being DEATH)
Deron huffed and puffed and blew all his candles out...on the first try!

After eating a scrumptious dinner of Chicken Cordon Bleu, baked potatoes and fresh bread,
Grandpa got a big "birthday smile" from Kayson~
 ...AND Kenron........
NOW that makes for a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I sure do love my 47 year old man and am grateful to have him in my life!

Bucket List REVAMP~

Several years ago I made myself a "bucket list"....if you read my blog, you know I talk about it every now and again. Over the years I've been able to do things I didn't think I ever would, eat things I probably wouldn't have dared try and seen things that I most likely wouldn't have put myself in a position to see had it not been for my "bucket list".

Things like:
Riding a horse on a guided trail....

seeing a bear in the WILD....

riding a train.....
along with many, many more fun filled things I've enjoyed!

As I've accomplished my desired "adventure", I draw a red line through it on my "list". I was looking at my "bucket list" the other day and noticed that I'm moving through it quite quickly and decided that 75 things was NOT enough to keep me busy for the next 55 years or so of my life...SOOOOO I"M ADDING to my list (woo hoo). Of course, not everything I added to my list is "an adventure", several things are just memorable things that I want to do before my time here on earth runs out...but mark my word, THERE are ADVENTURES to be had and I plan on having them!

New Additions to my infamous bucket list:

*Fly "first class" (this could REALLY be an adventure...because first and foremost, I will have to be RICH
     to accomplish this one!)
*Gallop a horse along the beach
*Send a letter to a random address and see if they write back (ha ha ha...this could be super fun and
     interesting!)
*Go on an adventure-pack my bags and set off for a random location, no itinerary planned (so out of my
comfort zone, but it will be fun!)
*Throughout the year write down memories that made me smile and re-read them on New Years Eve
*Make volume #2 of "Mom's cookbook" for my children
*Write my life history
*Ride a segway
*Attend a midnight screening of a movie (this will be a challenge since I tend to sleep during late movies)
*Assemble a list of favorite quotes and make a book of them
*Write myself a letter and read it in 5-10 years
*Ride a mechanic bull (have to do this before I get too old to enjoy it...ha ha ha)
*Go paint-balling with my kids
*Ride a ski lift
*Write appreciation letters to my kids and parents
*Make up my own holiday and celebrate it yearly (this one is definitely in the works)
*Go planking
*Ride the Front Runner Train from Provo to Salt Lake

AND AS ALWAYS....TAKE pictures of each and every adventure I have.

I am so excited to add these to the list and make plans for accomplishing them. Having a Bucket List keeps my life from being dull and mundane and I would recommend it to everyone...of ANY AGE! Life is meant to bring happiness to one and all! Everyone's bucket list will be different because what one person wants to accomplish/achieve in life will differ from someone else's, they will vary with age differences and with personal limitations...but I think EVERYONE should have one, regardless of who you are...but that's just my opinion of course~

The only thing we get to take with us when we pass on are the memories we've made, the things we've learned and the knowledge and joy we've gained through having experiences while we were here. I, for one, PLAN on having a "BUCKET" of joy to take with me when I go...( "figuratively speaking" of course). I don't want to miss an opportunity or pass up on something I later might regret not doing. Life is short, its never long enough to do EVERYTHING we want, but I plan on living life to the fullest and enjoying the ride whenever possible!

*I just added the NEW list to my OLD list...I now have 96 items, SOOOO I will be adding 4 more to make it an even 100................just don't know what they will be yet, I will keep you posted!

Sporting the "Fo-hawk"....

This little guy is so much fun...we gave him a bath the other day while he was over here
and combed his hair up into a cute little "baby" fo-hawk...
....and I think he liked it!

Everyone deserves a little "make-over" now and again!!

Being a grandma is SOOOO much fun!!

Angels?....hmmmm thats questionable~

Deron and Halle had an eye appointment last week...after having their eyes dilated, they both got  these NEW FABULOUS glasses to keep their eyes from hurting out in the sunlight.
Halle is now going to be sporting REAL glasses that she will be wearing
every day, all day long (no worries, I will post pictures when she gets them) and Deron is the proud
owner of BI-FOCAL'S...(oh the joys of aging)!
and what about me???
WELL, I'm going to be hanging on to the idea that I can get away with
just using "reading glasses"(for as long as possible)....but sadly wearing them  has become an absolute necessity when I read ANYTHING, so I think my days of not having to wear glasses 24/7 is creeping up quicker than I would like (but I seriously will hold off for as LONG as I can)!..UHG!

**KUDOS to Deron for standing in the "Charlies Angels" pose when Halle "ordered" him
to do so.....NOT all dad's are this AMAZING!!

Men at work....

It was a crazy evening after tending the grandkids all afternoon...Kenron and Kayson both needed fed so Todd decided to just feed his troops before he went home. I needed to get dinner ready and on the table so everyone could go their ways for the evening (teenagers are ALWAYS going somewhere, and have to be there NOW)... the house was a mess and needed picking up, the phone needed answering etc...

SO I handed the bottle to "papa" to feed Kenron, while Todd took over his "daddy duties" and fed Kayson!

Who say's that "men" can't take care of kids?? These two did a FINE job!!
(NOW, to get papa to change diapers)

It wasn't long before the boys were happy, fed and ready for a little "power nap"
before gathering their 2nd wind for the evening!
