Cameron loves wrestling...and he had a great year, he even placed 2nd at one big tournament and 3rd at another. He is so fun to watch as he hits each move (I was a dance coach and don't really understand all the moves and "jargon" for wrestling, so bear with me as I try to talk like I know what I'm saying) and goes for the win.
He's an intense wrestler and has worked really hard this year. Region wrestling was a bit tough for him...but only because he got a really bad case of the stomach flu the day before the big Region Meet. He was literally throwing up every hour-- and then came the "other" part of the stomach flu, which went on EVERY 10 minutes (no joke) for hours on end...until he was completely exhausted and dehydrated. Cameron was so ready for Region and could have taken 1st or 2nd easily (he really could have...) but he just didn't have any strength and was still sick on the day of Region. He was pale, sick and exhausted. He hadn't held anything down in 48 hours and had nothing left to give. BUT... because he is so darn dedicated, he showed up and wrestled with all that he had in him... but lost all of his matches, sending him to the State tournament in 4th place and in a difficult bracket. Cameron has the heart of a soldier and will push forward NO MATTER WHAT! I've never seen anyone more dedicated and more of a hard worker than he is!!! He went to State and gave it his all. He lost his first match, won his 2nd match and then lost his 3rd match...knocking him out of the State Tournament. Regardless of whether he won or lost, we thought he did a wonderful job and he made me proud! I am excited about next year when he will come back as a senior, bigger, better and stronger...with another year ahead of him and a huge desire to do his best. BUT for now I think he will be happy to be able to eat whatever he wants again...so until next year...
