Tough...?

Getting my wisdom teeth pulled is a memory that doesn't exist for me. I was 18 years old when I was taken to an oral surgeon, put to sleep with medicine in an IV and awakened when the entire ordeal was over. I remember having gauze in my mouth afterward to stop the bleeding for the big teeth that I had extracted...but the experience of having them taken from my mouth is non-existent! I count myself lucky after having watched Cameron have his taken out.

He went to our local dentist to have them extracted...NO IV...NO MEDICINE (other than a "local" shot near the extraction sight)....NO memory loss! HE DID have the gas which made him go to sleep (sort of) but he was still aware of them (the dentist and assistants) talking and asking him questions.

I sat at his feet on a chair and watched as the dentist tugged, pulled and wiggled the four teeth to get them to come out. I listened to Cam moan and watched him grip the chair as the pain seemed to get to him....I sad there wondering how he could be so brave (I have FEAR beyond belief, of the dentist...but thats another story for another post)....but he toughed it out and came out of his wisdom teeth extraction with flying colors. He came home and had a rough night filled with pain, but took nothing other than  Ibprophin. He completly amazes me..I'm glad its an experience that we all only have to do ONCE, because after being an outsider and watching it all take place, I couldn't get mine extracted again.
He's a tough ol' bird for sure!!!
